A DEPP-SPIELBURG COLLABIRATION??
The Tri-City Herald offers an article about Mahdi Obeidi, an Iraqi nuclear scientist under Saddam Hussein and author of "A Bomb in My Garden" which was purchased for movie rights by Johnny Depp's production company.

In the article, Obeidi confirms the purchase of film rights and suggests a possible collaboration with director Steven Spielberg.

Obeidi said Johnny Depp has purchased the book rights for a film. And, recently Obeidi saw Steven Spielberg about the possibility of directing the film, he said.

BusinessWire reports Johnny Depp took one of the top honors in the "American Movie Legends Survey" sponsored by Coors Brewing Company.
The survey included categories for most legendary movie, actors, characters, and duos, with "legends" considered those people or films that stand the test of time, are admired for decades and are celebrated by generations.

Johnny Depp took the top spot in the category of "Tomorrow's Legends".

HATS OFF FOR JOHNNY!
Hats off to Johnny Depp for taking the #1 spot for most fashionable celebrity hat-wearing males in 2007. (Slow news day... LOL) As reported by Metro.co.uk, the annual list is compiled by the Luton area's millinery and hat-making industry in the UK.

Johnny came in at #1 on the list, followed by Justin Timberlake, David Beckham, Boy George and Prince Harry.

Johnny Depp appeared at the MTV Movie Awards tonight to accept his "Best Performance" award for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. He also came back on stage with Jerry Bruckheimer to accept the film's award for "Best Movie".

Jennifer Lopez has honoured Johnny Depp with an award for his charitable work.
Presented by the singer at the Noche de Nios ("The Night of Children") gala in LA, Depp received a Courage to Care award to recognise his contributions to the Children Hospital Los Angeles.
As Lopez introduced him, she said: "His commitment to children really sets him apart.
"Johnny's kindness and generosity behind the scenes making children a priority are why he is one of tonight's award recipients.
"His films are aspirational for children all over the world. Johnny Depp is a role model for all of us."
Depp said he was "thankful" for the award and saluted the doctors and nurses at the hospital for "their generosity".
He concluded in his speech: "Lastly to the kids, the courage that I have seen in the eyes of these little ones that you don't see anywhere else is astonishing and inspiring."
Other celebrities at the annual event included Jessica Simpson, Billy Crystal, Ray Romano, and Il Divo.
